Happy Tails!

2012 Stories

During the summer of 2012 we had two separate instances where
a dog we had taken in found their original owner.

Here is Chris, with his beloved Chloe.
We found Chloe with a pack of dogs around a female in heat.
She had no collar or microchip so took her in and vetted her.
A few months later Chris came by the rescue inquiring about a dog he had that turned up missing a few months earlier.  I did not think we had the dog he described, but our Susie (who we had about 3 months) was the closest we had to his description of his dog so he went to her kennel and it was his Chloe.
We were so happy that Chris found his beloved Chloe, which he had gotten when she was just a puppy.  Actually, they are BOTH SMILING above!

Here is Jason. In September 2012 he came in to Petsmart while we were
having adoption day, looked at the dogs for adoption, then said
"That's my dog"!
Myra had been with us since May,
and four months later Jason was reunited with her.
I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS!

2011 STORIES

This is Pup, renamed Coal by his new dad.  He is a Chow / Rottweiler Mix.  He was our first pet adopted from our first Adoption Day we had at Tractor Supply in Montevallo on the July 4th weekend in 2011.  A few months later, Coal's "grandfather" came in to Tractor Supply and gave us an update on him.  He told us that Coal (who lives in Georgia, now) has lots of love from his new dad and his three teenage daughters.  Coal stays in the house with his two Dachsund brothers whom he loves to play with.  Coal had adjusted well at his new forever home!  Many thanks to Coal's new dad for giving him a loving forever home!

This is Ruby! She has set off to New Jersey with her new family. Ruby was a sweet duck tolling retriever who had a small problem: she loved her crate too much.  It was always hard to get her to come out, but her new family saw a picture of her and said they had one just like her, with the crate problem as well; so they made arrangements to get her home with them, and to be a crate buddy for their other dog.  We're happy Ruby found such a loving and understanding family.  The latest update is that her new duck-tolling retriever brother (Albert) is helping her to come out of her crate more voluntarily.  Here is a picture of the two of them together!

A nice family in the area wanted Maggie, but chose Lizzy instead because of Maggie's fence jumping.  Lizzy's new mom bought her an extra large crate, a new leash, and a big soft bed before they left.  We have a very good feeling about Lizzy's future.
